PINE NEEDLES

Pine-Needle technique is a unique technique of wet felt making. I was inspired by the pine needles spread on the snow in one winter morning in my home town, Sapporo. Pine Needles is lacy fine felt, it is very soft and delicate but strong enough to wear.

This is something only your clever hands can do and this is what I love.

Scarf with Pine-Needle  3 day class

We are going to make a small sample to learn the basic of the technique and learn how to make it in the scale of a scarf. We will combine the very fine regular felt ma

king which is also good to learn for your own further projects.

This includes making a sample and the workshop is suited for both experienced and beginning felters.

When: 9.30 – 4.30;  7, 8, 9 and 11, 12, 13 Sept (2 workshops)

Where: Moonah Arts Centre

Cost $240 (+ $10 membership of Stitching and Beyond to meet insurance requirements)

August was beautiful Bra month

This month Jacquie showed the Tassie felters how to create an art bra. These will be a group entry for the Hobart show.SAM_8881

The felters worked on so many brillant bra’s. There was a huge range of designs and everyone worked away hard at their creations. Keep an eye out for us at the Hobart show, I dont think you will miss our display. They should bring a smile to everyones face abd the Tassie felters had lots of fun making them.
